Course abstract
In field practice students get acquainted with gymnosperm and angiosperm woody plants phenological phase differences and specific of determination of taxonomic status of growing plants. Phenorythmyc of individual species is used to determine various woody plants growing in several dendrological plantings and growing wild.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
After field practice student knows Latvian wild growing woody plants and introduced species, their degree of naturalization and has visited the most important, richest with species arboretums where except recognition skills of the local and introduced base species students learn ornamental varieties and forms, their enhancement, recognition. Complementing the above theoretical knowledge with practice student is competent to associate individual tree growth requirements for the assessment of compliance with the tree growing conditions in forest as well as selecting the appropriate varieties and forms for greenery.
