Course abstract

The aim of the 1st part of the bachelor's thesis is to define the title of the topic of the bachelor's thesis, formulate the aim and tasks of the thesis, create the table of contents of the thesis, select the list of literature to be analysed in the thesis, as well as prepare a draft of the theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis. During the development process of bachelor’s thesis, the student’s theoretical and practical knowledge is systemised, reinforced and extended, which allows assessing the depth and breadth of the student’s knowledge, the skill to find and use information sources and materials, the ability to analyse and critically assess the research works produced by other authors, the ability to formulate conclusions on the research results and to make proposals derived from the findings by exploiting the knowledge gained during the studies.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

As a result of the study course students:
• know the methodological instructions for the development and design of a bachelor's thesis - the draft of a bachelor's thesis;
• know how to define the topicality of the subject of the course work, formulate the purpose and tasks of the research according to the subject – the task and draft of the bachelor's thesis;
• are able to identify and summarize the necessary theoretical basis, work with scientific and professional literature, perform information processing, analysis and systematization for the development of a bachelor's thesis - draft of a bachelor's thesis;
• are able to organize and plan their time, as well as to choose appropriate methods for achieving the research results - bachelor's thesis draft;
• are able to independently find a solution for a specific task, argue own point of view – draft of bachelor’s thesis.

1 Familiarisation with the guidelines for writing and defending a bachelor thesis (4h)
2 Choice and formulation of the bachelor's thesis topic. Coordination of the topic with the supervisor (2h)
3 Formulation of thesis goal and tasks (4h)
4 Designing the form of bachelor's thesis task, coordinating with the supervisor, as well as submitting and approval of the form of bachelor's thesis task (3h)
5 Preparation of the thesis structure (table of contents) (3h)
6 Preparation of the list of literature to be analysed (8h)
7 Data and information acquisition, processing of the information and data acquired, analysis of literary sources (38h)
8 Preparation of a draft of a bachelor's thesis (12h)
9 Coordination of the bachelor thesis draft with the supervisor, submission and approval (6h)

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

1. The student must independently familiarize himself with the ITF methodological rules for the development and defence of the Bachelor's thesis, as well as the calendar schedule for the development of the Bachelor's thesis.
2. The student must choose the topic and supervisor of the thesis.
3. The student must fill in the form of Bachelor's thesis task, which must be coordinated with the supervisor and submitted according to the instructions.
4. The student must prepare a draft of the Bachelor's thesis, which must be prepared in accordance with the ITF methodological rules for the preparation of Course theses, bachelor's theses and master's theses, coordinated with the supervisor and submitted according to the instructions.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

Successfully graded Bachelor thesis draft.
