Course abstract

Course students get acquainted with the institutional environment of civil construction system and structure, state and local government functions of Construction Business, economic mechanism and legal base of instruments with the national monitoring and control mechanism, legislation of establishing construction company, regulatory legislation regulating the activities of the different sectors of the economy for construction companys work. Acquire knowledge of building social dialogue in society and labor relations with regulations.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge of civil construction environment institutional system and structure, state and local government functions in Construction Business, legal base of economic mechanism and instruments, with national monitoring and control mechanism, legislation of establishing a construction company, regulatory legislation of construction companies operations in different sectors of the economy.
• Skills - able to apply business regulatory legal normative acts in given construction management process. Can use arguments to explain and justify legal regulations. Is able to perform contractor according to legal normative acts of LR.
• Competence - can document, analyse and evaluate Civil Construction regulatory legal regulations, justify civil construction legislations potential impact on business environment and the company's operations. Is able to understand and interpret norms of legal normative acts. Assessment: test with a mark.
Assessment: knowledge, skills and competence are assessed with 2 tests, practical work, report and presentation and final test.

5 Legal basis regulating the registration, establishment and reorganization of construction companies. Test (2h)
6 Certain special rules for types of commercial transactions. Regulatory basis supporting business activities. (2h)
11 Legal and regulatory framework regulating state and local government procurement. Construction of the regulatory area of public-private partnerships. (1h)
12 Legal and regulatory framework regulating the company's advertising. (1h)
14. Regulatory enactments regulating the establishment and registration of a commercial pledge. (1h)
15 Legal and regulatory framework regulating labor protection. Test (2h)
16 Regulatory framework regulating corporate insolvency proceedings. End of the course. Summary of results. Industry news. (1h)

Requirements for awarding credit points

Must have passed 2 tests on theoretical issues, practical work, submit and defend a report and presentation on the chosen topic, the course ends with a test with a mark, the assessment of which depends on the cumulative assessment of the semester.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

The student is able to prove the acquired knowledge and skills on construction business legislation, construction organization, planning and management issues, writing and defending a report (30%), completing 2 tests (20%) and practical work (20%), test (30%). The total grade is a test with a mark (100%).
