Course abstract
Second part of study course. Forest typology its opportunities of use. The use of wood. Final felling: clear felling and selection felling. Ecological and economical development of final felling. Thinning, its tasks, laws and regulations related to thinning. Forestry valuation of thinning. Sanitary felling, tasks and regulations. Reconstructive and other felling. Forms of reforestation. Pruning of living trees. Rational design. Forestry measures to improve yield. Conception about all tree biomass use.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
During studies students acquire theoretical course and practical use of forest typology, also about types of felling, their laws and regulations. Requirements of environmental protection during felling. Acquire conception about use of whole tree biomass, also types of reforestation and promotion of natural forest regeneration. Use theoretical knowledge to characterize different ecosystems, to plan purposeful forestry measures from planting till felling. After study course acquirement students are able to assess and predict natural and anthropogenic factor influence to sustainable and commercial forest management.
