Course abstract

During the study course, the student evaluates the land area and territorial location of agricultural holdings, designs and substantiates the necessary boundary changes to create compact, rationally located land properties. A land use project for land consolidation is being prepared for the group of farms

Learning outcomes and their assessment

- Knows and understands the rational farm and its territorial location, the importance of land management in its provision. Knowledge is assessed according to the course project solutions
- Is able to develop a land use project. Skills are assessed according to the course project solutions

- Is able to assess farm land holdings and land uses and is able to eliminate territorial deficiencies. Competences are assessed according to the course project solutions.

Course Content(Calendar)

Full-time studies:
1. Receiving a course project assignment and getting acquainted with it. Preparation of farm situation plan.
2. Characterization of the areas and boundaries of existing farms.
3. Road provision and quality assessment. Calculation of weighted average distances for existing holdings.
4. Calculation of compactness coefficients for existing farms.
5. Calculation of indicators characterizing the territory of existing farms.
6. Design of boundary changes.
7. Description of the designed changes (cuts, cuts).
8. Compilation of a summary table of the land areas to be separated and exchanged.
9. Characterization of the areas and boundaries of the designed farms.
10. Characterization of road provision and quality, calculation of weighted average distances for designed farms.
11. Compact assessment for designed farms.
12. Calculation of the indicators characterizing the territory of the designed farms.
13. Determining the economic efficiency of the project.
14. Preparation and design of the land use project plan.
15. Compilation and design of an explanatory article for a land use project.
16. Defending the course project.

Part-time studies:

All topics specified for full-time studies are implemented, but the number of contact hours is 1/2 of the specified number of hours

Requirements for awarding credit points

A course project must be developed and defended.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Research of special literature and regulatory enactments on the development of land use planning projects.
Course project development.
The student develops the course project in accordance with the course project task and methodological instructions issued by the lecturer, submits and defends it within the terms agreed with the lecturer.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

An obligatory condition of the course project is its defense, in which the student presents in a short report (approx. 3-5 min.) The aims and tasks of the course project, introduces the current situation and the solutions and work results, visualizing the narration with graphic materials.
The assessment is determined by the content and design of the explanatory article and graphic part of the course project, as well as its defense.
