Course abstract

The diploma project is a knowledge verification work in which the student demonstrates the ability to gather information, analyze, model, evaluate the effectiveness of a developed project, substantiate and defend his or her proposals and ideas in open discussion.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

1. Is able to critically understand the nature, content and application of land use planning and surveying.
2. Is able to independently and analytically perform land surveying and land management activities at different levels of performance.

3. To know how to perform assessment and elimination of problems of land use planning and surveying based on knowledge of cadastre, spatial planning, land management, geodesy, cadastral surveying, real estate valuation and land law.

Course Content(Calendar)

Full-time studies:
1. Choosing the theme of the diploma project.
2. Preparation of work plan for diploma project.
3. Approval of the theme of the diploma project.
4. Preparation of the diploma project development calendar.
5. Identification of materials necessary for the development of diploma project
6. Collection and research of special literature.
7. Development of the content of the diploma project.
8. Development of theoretical part, justification of choice of topic. Development of analytical literature review or research.
9. Work on practical and graphic part.
10. Intermediate report of the diploma project
11. Evaluation of results and drawing conclusions.
12. Finalization of diploma project.
13. Preliminary defense of the diploma project.
14. Preparation and submission of diploma project for control, review and defense of plagiarism.
15. Poster Preparation.
16. Defense of the diploma project at the State Examination Commission

Part-time studies:

All topics specified for full-time studies are implemented, but the number of contact hours is 1/2 of the specified number of hours

Requirements for awarding credit points

The exam consists of:
• report in the mid-term report of the diploma project
• report in the preliminary defense of the diploma project
• defended diploma project at the State Examination Commission

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Studies of scientific and educational literature (monographs, scientific articles and their collections, conference and seminar material specialized scientific periodicals) related to the subject of the diploma project.
Independent work related to diploma project:
1. Choosing the theme of the diploma project.
2. Preparation of work plan for diploma project.
3. Preparation of the diploma project development calendar.
4. Identification of materials necessary for the development of the diploma project
5. Collection and research of special literature.
6. Development of the content of the diploma project.
7. Development of theoretical part, justification of choice of topic. Development of analytical literature review or research.
8. Work on practical and graphic part.
9. Evaluation of results and drawing conclusions.
10. Finalization of diploma project.
11. Preparation and submission of the diploma project for the control, review and defense of plagiarism.
12. Poster Preparation.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

1. After the report, the Diploma project interim report evaluates the student's work on the Diploma project in accordance with the submitted Diploma Project development calendar.
2. After the report on the preliminary defense of the Diploma project, the meeting of the Department shall make a decision on the compliance of the Diploma project with the specified requirements and its promotion to the defense.
3. The defense of the Diploma project shall take place at the State Examination Commission approved by the Rector's order.
