Course abstract
The study course provides theoretical knowledge and practical skills on the preschoolers’ psychic development. The students, within the framework of the study course, perfect their knowledge of the general regularities of preschoolers’ growth and development according to various authors. The students, on the basis of a child-oriented approach, get insight into a child’s development in the unified wholeness, the peculiarities of a child’s cognitive, individual, emotional and volition development, the psychological indicators of preschoolers’ school readiness.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
• Knowledge – knows the basic concepts of preschool psychology; the general regularities of a child’s growth and development; the individual development of children, when they acquire the content preschool education program;
• skills – can analyze, compare and evaluate the division of preschoolers’ age groups into periods according to various authors; can evaluate theoretically the regularities of a child’s development in the content of a preschool education program in the different spheres of activities; can use the information technologies for the preparation of a presentation; • competence – able to evaluate the general regularities of a child’s growth and development in the unified wholeness; able to see these regularities in the content of a preschool education program.
