Course abstract | |
Energy types used in the household, their transformation and application in the household. Ensuring the quality of the home environment, using modern equipment. Basic principles of household appliances construction and function, requirements for selection and economic use of the appliances. Home as reflection of socio-cultural and intellectual level. Home maintenance – washing, cleaning, care and keeping, as well as a set of repair. Efficiency of home maintenance through an ecological, economical and rational work organization. Teaching methods of mentioned topics at school. | |
Learning outcomes and their assessment | |
• Knowledge on technical matters of home environment, as well as choice of household appliances, principles of its operation and use, which forms a part of Household / Home Economics subject taught at school. Knowledge and understanding about necessity of home maintenance and its possibilities; efficient and economic cleaning and preservation, repair works.
• Skills to analyze and evaluate necessary resources for operation of household appliances; skills to choose more effective means, tools and work organisation of home maintenance. • Competence – able to argument and explain advantages and disadvantages of various household appliances, as well as give instructions on their use; able to care for well maintained home, able to draw students’ interest to keeping clear and careful environment, able to organize the themes of Home Maintenance according Standard of Home Economics and Standard of Household, able to develop teaching aids |
