Course abstract

The aim of the study course is to get acquainted with the construction and operating principles of vehicles. In study course classification, construction and operation principles of engines are discussed. Mechanisms and systems of internal combustion engines as well as mechanical and electronically regulations, forms, tasks, classification and components of transmission and operation principles of transmission parts are overlooked. Hydraulical equipment ant its operation principles.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge - peculiarities of vehicle construction, principles of operation of their units. Knowledge is assessed in tests. Test 1 - “Structure and operation of vehicle engines” - in the form of a test, successful mark, if 50% of the questions are answered correctly. Test 2 - “Vehicle transmission operation” - in the form of a test, successful mark, if 50% of the questions are answered correctly. Test 3 - “Vehicle hydraulics and PTO operation” - in the form of a test, successful mark, if 50% of the questions are answered correctly.
Skills - to evaluate the technical indicators of vehicles and engines, their operation; to perform full-fledged maintenance of vehicles for economic transport and agrotechnical work. Skills are assessed in laboratory works.
Competence - to constantly analyze the engineering solutions of vehicle constructions, to constantly solve technical issues to ensure the failure-free operation of vehicles. Able to independently determine the technical condition of vehicle construction elements.

Part-time studies:
All topics specified for full-time studies are implemented, but the number of contact hours is 1/2 of the specified number of hours

Requirements for awarding credit points

Laboratory works have been developed and defended, tests are successfully written.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Analysis of laboratory and practicaly work.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

Students with an average grade of at least four points will get a positive result.
