Food-packaging materials: metal, metal cans, glass, glass containers. Paper, paperboard, fiberboard, folding cartons. Plastics, laminates, trays. Types of containers. Labeling, labels. Bar codes. Form-fill-seal packaging machinery. Container filling and sealing. Closing devices. Shrink-wrapping and stretch-wrapping. Packaging with special features. Aseptic packaging.
After the course student will have:
Knowledge; in food packaging industry and food packaging materials;
Skills: to be competent in the types of packaging, shape manufacturing processes and packaging technology implementation;
Competence: to be able for analysing food packaging materials, food packaging processes and new packaging technologies.
