Course abstract

The aim of the study course is to acquire in-depth knowledge and skills in management theory and practice in the forest sector, to analyze the role of management and its impact on the development of the organization.
Students gain in-depth knowledge of management theories, their development and practice, organizational culture and the basic principles of strategic management. Understands management functions, styles, is able to recognize and apply them in practice, analyze their impact on the development of the organization. Is able to evaluate the principles and performance of the organization's management.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge
The master's student knows the basic principles of management of the forest sector. There is an understanding of the components that make up forest resources, their management structure. Type of examination – test.
Skills
As a result of the course, the master's student is able to formulate his opinion on the perspectives of the development of the forest industry. thinking. Type of test – demonstration of skills during the analysis of various situations.
Competences
The master's student is competent to independently evaluate and analyze the management principles of forest management organizations and structures and their impact on the organization's performance.

Requirements for awarding credit points

Students must attend at least 75% of the classes, prepare and defend their independent work, participate and speak in the seminar classes, and at the end of the course you must have a successfully written test.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Independent preparation for knowledge control by studying specialized literature and using learning resources available within the study course in the e-study environment.
Analysis of concepts and situations.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

After studying the course, the student:
knows about the latest trends in the forest sector and management of companies in the sector (practice).
knows how to formulate his opinion on the perspectives of the development of the forest sector. (practice d.) responsible complex analysis of the processes taking place in the forest sector. (practice d.)
All independent tasks must be developed, successfully written test. Exam.
