Course abstract

The topic of the master's thesis is chosen depending on the direction of the study specialty. Development of an individual plan, including the master's thesis hypothesis (es), goals, tasks, fieldwork methodology and work content. Choice of research object. Literature studies for the preparation of experimental and / or research methodologies.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge and understanding of the importance of the chosen topic of work in the relevant sub-sector, topics of current problems. Acquires in-depth skills in working with scientific literature. As a result, is able to compile and analyze scientific literature, evaluate and select appropriate research methods / Preparation, submission and review of basic information at the extended meeting of the Department of Forestry. Test "Master's Thesis I".

Course Content(Calendar)

1. Selection of master's thesis topic.
2. Development of the aim, tasks, hypothesis of the master's thesis.
3. Justification of the topicality of the master's thesis topic. Selection of research object(s) and its(o) short description.
4. Identification of previous scientific research and literature for preparation of research methodology.

Preparation and submission of successful master's thesis basic information to the supervisor (s) and program director / test Master's thesis I

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Under the supervision of the supervisor(s), the Master's student independently prepares the basic information and presentation of the Master's thesis.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

The director of the study program must submit the basic information of the developed master's thesis approved by the supervisor (title of the thesis, aim, research tasks, hypothesis, research object, fieldwork methodology). Basic information is reviewed and approved at the open meeting of the Department of Forestry.

The master's thesis is included in the compulsory part of the master's study program. The study course is planned for the 2nd semester of the 1st year of the academic master's study program “Forest Science”.
