LauZB032 [GLAUB032] Ground Motor Vehicles
The aim of the study course is to get acquainted with the classification and structure of vehicles. The course covers engine classification, basic principles of operation of spark ignition engines and compression ignition engines and other topics: crank and crank distribution mechanisms, engine cooling, lubrication and supply systems, fuel pumps, nozzles and turbochargers, ignition system reviews, engine mechanical and adjustment, vehicle transmission elements, clutch, gearbox, transfer case, cardan gears, differentials, half-axles, side gears, wheel reducers, running gear and its principle of operation, vehicle suspensions, their types.
Knowledge - peculiarities of vehicle construction, principles of operation of their units. Knowledge is assessed in tests. Test 1 - “Structure and operation of vehicle engines” - in the form of a test, successful mark, if 50% of the questions are answered correctly. Test 2 - “Vehicle transmission operation” - in the form of a test, successful mark, if 50% of the questions are answered correctly. Test 3 - “Vehicle hydraulics and PTO operation” - in the form of a test, successful mark, if 50% of the questions are answered correctly.
Skills - to evaluate the technical indicators of vehicles and engines, their operation; to perform full-fledged maintenance of vehicles for economic transport and agrotechnical work. Skills are assessed in laboratory work.
Competence - to constantly analyze the engineering solutions of vehicle constructions, to constantly solve technical issues to ensure the failure-free operation of vehicles. Able to independently determine the technical condition of vehicle construction elements.

A written exam.
Laboratory works have been developed and defended, tests are successfully written.
Analysis of laboratory work.
The assessment of the study course exam depends on the cumulative assessment of the study course tests. The exam grade is calculated as the arithmetic mean of the two exam assignments and the mean valuation of the tests.
