Course abstract

In study course students will acquire understanding of the role of strategic planning in the company’s management, strategic planning’s competency, levels and steps. Students are introduced to the different types of strategies uses and how to choose the best principals in practice. Course gives insight to the widely used strategies used in the international market. During this course the students have the chance to do research about the hospitality industry environment and competition.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

knowledge - an understanding of strategy development and use of basic management principles in a changing environment;
skills - know how to choose and apply a rational and effective information gathering methods for the hospitality company's economic performance appraisal; can plan the company's development direction according to the hospitality company's operation results analysis plan;
competence - able to develop a hospitality company's strategy, which includes a detailed set of measures; are able to present and justify the choice of strategy according to business conditions.
