The course is aimed to acquiring some skills for computer-aided design of timber frame houses and blockhouses as well using SEMA Software. Students have been acquainted with the main program modules enable for planning the house according to the initial data and architectural conception, and requirements of customer as well, module of structural analysis, fasteners and joining of elements correspondingly to actions predicted, construction materials and technological tools available. After completition of the study course student will have some skills for computer-aided design of timber houses and he/she enable for assessment of advantages and limitations as well
After completing the course student will have:
• knowledge and understanding the scope of SEMA Software meaning method of structural analysis and Eurocode conditions covered;
• skills: for design of timber frame house or blockhouse by SEMA Software tools;
• competencies: for evaluation of quality of design project regarding to function of building, actions, materials and technologies available as well
1 Introduction. Recognition test on planning of houses and design of stable structure 2h
2 Getting started with SEMA software: modules, tools, options. 4h
3 Creating a ground plan of residential house: 2D model transformable to 3D. 1h
4 Editing of 3D model defining new levels 1h
5 Creating of walls 3h
6 Creating of joist system and floor structure 2h
7 Rafter system and the roof design 4h
8 Stair tools 4h
