They study to identify wild caulescent plant taxa used in landscape gardening.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge about the morphology, biology, and ecology of the wild and introduced woody plant taxa, wild caulescent plants and their significance in the natural and artificial ecosystems of Latvia, taxa migration and their floristic status in the flora and vegetation of Latvia, and the role of plant taxa in landscape architecture. Skills to analyze and evaluate the morphological features of the woody plants, to evaluate their taxonomic value and to identify taxa. Competence to evaluate and explain the expressions of the interaction of woody plant taxa and the environment, to be able to evaluate the suitability of the taxon to the particular ecological conditions, if necessary, to justify its replacement.
