Course abstract

Study course includes special drainage cases - drainage system design, when water level in drainage drain not to provide traditional free outflow or environmental requirements or interests inadmissible drain regulation. Described polder elements, tasks, constructions and main calculations.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Student gets knowledge about discharge areas and territories affected by flood risk, also methods and techniques of reclamation and agricultural usage of such territories.
• Skills to choose and to apply optimal technical solution for reclamation network with mechanical water lifting system. Student gets skills to apply constructions and devices for dams, hydro technical building elements, and pumping stations.
• Student is competent to use obtained knowledge and skills about discharge areas and territories affected by flood risk in case of reclamation and optimal usage of such territories.
