Course abstract

Goal of the course is to elaborate assembly design of industrial building. The design documentation consist of written project manual and graphical drawings. Written project manual includes: specification lists of parts in assembly and lifting equipment, construction work organization – timetable/ scheduling; calculations of manpower, temporary buildings, consumables and technical resourses, project technical – economical costs; assembly quality and labour protection assessment. Graphical drawings: detailed technological schemas of assembly works, construction site plan.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

After studying the course the student will obtain: • Knowledge at basic concepts in the development of construction plans and detailed technological schemas of assembly works, choice of technology and construction method, defining work tasks, defining precedence relationships among activities, estimating activity durations, estimating resource requirements for work activities.
• Skills – ability to design Construction Plans and technological schemas, including the choice of technology, the definition of work tasks, the estimation of the required resources and durations for individual tasks, and the identification of any interactions among the different work tasks.
• Competence in the development of appropriate alternatives for facility design, choices of appropriate technology and methods for construction, scheduling of construction activities, estimating the resources required by the work tasks, defining sequences for construction activities.
