Waste management, magnitude of the problems. Strategy of waste management. Impact of wastes on the environment. Problems and priority's. Type, characteristics and specifics of the waste. Collection methods, sorting, transport, recycling possibilities. Disposal problems of the wastes. Disposal of the solid wastes. Disposal of hazardous wastes. Design, operation and management of landfills |
Learning outcomes and their assessment |
Knowledge and understanding of waste management problems, and understanding of waste management in relation with environmental quality issues; Skills to choose corresponding measures to solve special waste management problems; Competence to offer specific waste management technological solutions and to substantiate the choice based on the principles of environmental protection. |
