Course abstract
The course provides a detailed idea of tourism as a kind of recreation and business, the historical evolution of tourism administration and the development of tourism administration in the context of the system approach and organizational cooperation. The knowledge of tourism administration development complements the theoretical knowledge, skills and competencies previously acquired by students through associating it with aspects of cooperation in relation to the development and administration of the tourism industry. The course also provides students with general skills in tourism planning. The aim of the course – to familiarize students with the historical evolution of tourism administration and the development of tourism administration in the context of the system approach and cooperation between organizations.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
Knowledge :
1.Students will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of trends in tourism administration and cooperation between organizations in tourism resource administration – practical assignments;
2.Demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of the system approach to tourism planning and analysis and the possibilities of private and public sector cooperation for tourism development – Test.
Professional skills :
1.Independently analyse tourism as an industry and a way of spending free time by applying the acquired knowledge of various aspects of tourism administration - practical assignments;
2.Reasonably explain and discuss the formation of cooperation for different kinds of tourism, applying the acquired knowledge of the system approach - independent work, presentation.
Soft skills :
1.Responsibly plan the completion of the assignments given, meeting the deadlines - practical assignments;
2.Acquire accurate information, prepare presentations and speak in public - independent work;
3.Participate in group work and discussions - discussions in forums.
Competence: Independently analyse the different kinds of tourism and tourism as a system at both national and local level and use theoretical findings on tourism systems in conducting applied research – test, practical assignments independent work, presentation, discussions.

Requirements for awarding credit points
The course includes a test, which is planned during the practical work in the classroom, and one independent work and a presentation, which must be submitted at the indicated time and practical assignments and discussions in the forums at the allotted time. Final assessment of the study course - a test with a mark, which is formed by an accumulative assessment of study results.
Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work
Within the study course, the following is allocated for independent studies:
1. 48 hours of full-time studies, which are organized as follows: preparation for test (20 hours), preparation of independent work and presentation (10 hours) preparation of practical assignments at the indicated times (18 hours); 2. 64 hours of part-time distance learning, which are organized as follows: preparation for test (20 hours), preparation of independent work and presentation (10 hours) preparation of practical assignments at the indicated times and discussions in forums (34 hours);
Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes
The final assessment of the study course consists of:
test - 60%,
independent work and presentation - 20%,
practical assignments, works and discussions throughout the semester - 20%. Test with a mark -acumulative evaluation of study results 100%
