Course abstract | |
Students get acquainted with the basic principles of school management, the Latvian educational structures, educational institutions work and activities regulatory documents; the role of educational administration in the management team, functional responsibilities, school’ development concepts, management decision implementation. Study subject creates comprehension of teacher participation in planning and analyzing school activities, about teacher rights and responsibilities, educational institution's budget, tariffing of the teachers, protection of pupils’ health and life in the school. | |
Learning outcomes and their assessment | |
• Knowledge – able to understand, to analyses and to evaluate the Latvian educational system; organization, foundation, management structure of education establishment; cooperation with local governments etc. institutions; the role of educational administration in the development of education establishment; teacher`s and student`s rights and responsibilities; protection of pupils’ health and life in the school.
• Skills – able to use knowledge in planning of their teaching activities in accordance with regulatory documents and development plans for education an school activities; participate in the projects, work in the methodological board; to carry out their teaching self-evaluation. • Competence - to be able to use school management knowledge and skills in the planning, organizing and evaluating of school and pedagogical works accordance with the school's development strategy. |
