Course abstract
Master's thesis in the field of career counselling is a research work which confirms theoretical and practical readiness of master student to perform professionally obligations of career counsellors in the various institutions in conformity with profession standards. Student must accomplish studies on topical scientific or applied problem of career counselling
Learning outcomes and their assessment
Knowledge. The student has a notion about research areas in career counselling. Students know how to analyze and solve a research problem. Students have an understanding about the purpose and objectives of the research. Students know how to choose a research topic based on the theoretical and practical aspects of career counselling. Students know how to formulate the research object, subject, goal and hypothesis or research question, tasks and justify certain research methods, as well as to reflect self-experience in solving the researched issue / actuality.
Skills. Students are able to develop their research skills and use them in quantitative and qualitative research and reflect them in Master's investigations. Competence. Students are able to gather research information and evaluate used theories, theoretical approaches and models. Students are able to experiment and process data. Students are able to evaluate the results of the research, as well as formulate conclusions and recommendations. Students are able to defend their master's Thesis.
Course Content(Calendar)
1.Development of conception of Master's Thesis.
2.Choice of supervisor's.
3.Preparation of introduction (conception) of Master's Thesis. 4.Choice of supervisors and consultants; coordination of the topic
Requirements for awarding credit points
Action based on student initiative and purposefulness in the development of Master's thesis concept. Supervisor’s choice and constructive, fruitful mutual cooperation satisfying the requirements of the Master's Thesis.
Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work
The student independently develops the concept of Master's Thesis.
Suggestion and choice of supervisors (if necessary - including consultants).
Developing and refining basic research questions in consultation with the supervisor. Performed work is assessed with a test (without grade) in the 1st semester (3 ECTS) of full-time studies and in the 2nd semester (3 ECTS) of part-time studies.
