Course abstract | |
The study course includes methods and techniques for analysis of structure and activities in the forest technological processes, depending on the influencing conditions. The course deals with technological processes in all forest works. It focuses mainly on logging. | |
Learning outcomes and their assessment | |
• Knowledge about methods and techniques for analysis of structure and activities in the forest technological processes.
• Skills to analyse the structural elements of forest technological process at stated working conditions. • Competence, which provides the ability to produce a meaningful proposals for forest work process structural processes for specific conditions. |

2 Basic principles of technology analysis. 3 Indicators characterizing the process of logging technological analysis. 4 Assessment and analysis of conditions affecting logging. 5 Types of logging technological processes. 6 Technologies of felling operations. 7 Tree felling operations in different felling conditions. 8 Timber pruning operations. 9 Processes of wood thinning operations. 10 Analysis of technology quality indicators in primary timber transport. 11 Technological planning, expected effect. 12 Analysis of forest soil preparation technologies. 13 Problems of forest technology evaluation and possible development. 14 Systematic approach in the analysis of forest operations technology. 15 Forest operations technological systems. 16 Organization, planning and evaluation of technological research. |

Requirements for awarding credit points | |
Attendance of lectures and participation in seminars 90% of the total amount, write an essay on the analysis of forest work technologies and successfully pass the exam. | |
Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work | |
Students independently strengthen their knowledge according to the content of the lectures. Completion of the tasks of practical work received and started to perform in the classroom classes is allowed during the time provided for independent studies. | |
Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes | |
The criterion is the percentage compliance with the 10-point grading scale. The assessment in any of the study results must not be less than 50% of 8 points, or it must be at least 4 points. | |
