Course abstract
the aim of the study course is to introduce students with actualities in research activities in forest sector carried out in Latvian. Within the framework of study course according to the previously elaborated plan what is accepted by Department of Siviculture of Forest Faculty and heads of involved scientific institutions scientists, representing different research areas and scientific laboratories, are visiting Forest Faculty and introducing with progress, methodology and results of the last major research projects.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
After the finishing of this study course students
• know what are the questions, which scientists in forestry are dealing with, knows research directions and subbranches as well as the technical resources of scientific laboratories,
• has skills for orientation in the research results of forest science in wide choice of scientific literature and popular science publications, • is competent as well as is able to consider about use of available research results in learning of other study courses and writing the bachelor thesis.
