Course abstract
The course is viewing the basics of the computer arithmetic, including numeration systems, numeric representation and binary arithmetic. The section covers the subject of digital logic, introduces students to Boolean operations, logic gates, logic circuits. The course also covers processing of bits on base of machine language. The course covers origins of the computer development. The relationship with other courses is reviewed. Course learning objective:
As course learning outcomes students obtain:
knowledge of computer arithmetic and logical operations, alphabetic principles of information coding, computer programming and development history, current events and contemporary perspectives;
skills in linking their knowledge of computers and information technology operations basis, with the content of other study courses, as well as in matching study process requirements; competence in solving problems in their profession, in participating in the development of their professionalism.
