Course abstract
The main objective of the course is to provide students with increased and interdisciplinary understanding in theoretical and practical aspects of river basin management. During the course work students gather information on the medium-sized unexplored river in Latvia for hydrologic design purposes, when assessing options for recreation or power plant construction.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
Upon completion of the course students will gain:
• Knowledge in hydrology and hydrometry basics.
• Skills to overview the interdisciplinary character of river basin discharge estimations. • Competence in collecting, evaluating, analysing and using the information in the field of hydrological design.
