Course abstract

Students are introduced to problematic of lake research and management. Students make survey of lake and indicate indicator species for recognition of lake trophic state. Students make morphologic research of lake and identify problematic situations. Practical training provides competence for students to organise lake protection and ecological quality improvement.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge about ecological processes in lake, anthropogenic factors that impact lake ecological quality and measures to improve lake environment quality.
• Skills to use theoretical knowledge in practice, by recognition of lake trophic state and by identifying anthropogenic factors that impact lake.
• Competence to develop lake management plan.
