Course abstract

MSc thesis in the Environmental Engineering should have research elements and demonstrate the level of knowledge acquired during studies. Existing knowledge should be supported with novel ideas. The thesis normally involves analytic description of the topic, identification of problems, presentation and evaluation of research results, conclusions or recommendations for solution of the problem.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

The course develops 1. Knowledge and understanding about state of arts of the topic of MSc thesis and recent developments in that area 2. The course enables students with an ability to find relevant research methods and evaluate available data sources; 3. The course elaborates competence to use relevant materials and methods and competence to prepare chapter on description of research methods and available data.
