Course abstract
Master thesis in the Environmental Engineering is an independent scientific research that approves student's academic achievements acquired during the studies. Existing knowledge in the field of research should be supported with novel ideas presented in Master thesis. The thesis provides an analysis of the research problem, outlines the research development, student defines the hypothesis of study and argues the results and conclusions. Obtained skills are confirmed with successfully elaborated and defended Master's thesis.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
After the preparation of Master thesis student will have:
• Knowledge and understanding about components of scientific research work, state of arts in the topic of Master thesis and recent developments in the field of research;
• Skills to conduct independent research including to search and process scientific information, to choose relevant mathematical methods for data analysis, and critically evaluate research results obtained in the specific field of environmental engineering;
• Competence to describe and evaluate research results, to formulate conclusions and recommendations, and to defend Master thesis.
