Course abstract
The course provides the necessary basic knowledge about soil hydro physical properties, water cycle in the soil, soil water processes and hydrological, hydraulic calculations for design of land reclamation systems. The course explains the task of land drainage, drainage methods and schemes, the principles for layout of systems, construction materials, and structures.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
1. Knowledge and understanding of land reclamation and fundamental importance of soil hydro-physical properties, hydrology and hydraulics discipline bases. Understanding of the land reclamation complex activities, the tasks and expected results. 2. Skills and the ability to link the knowledge gained in-depth to outline in the final work on environmental issues, the landscape and the improvement of production facilities. 3. Competence for critical view of the potential gains and losses after the amelioration measures from social, economic and environmental and changes in perspective point of view, if the final work sub-concerns this particular theme.
