Course abstract

The nomenclature of cargo transported by road increasing. The number of modifications of specialized vehicles increases. It is important to choose the most suitable vehicle for specific cargo and road conditions.This study subject deal with several types of specialized vehicles, its constructive features, advantages and application area. In practical works students choose appropriate vehicle for selected type of freight and haulage, they also calculate necessary number of vehicles and other parameters.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge - student acquires in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge on the range and design of specialized automobiles suitable for transportation of different specific cargos as well as on their efficient use.
• Skills - student can independently use the theory and knowledge to choose the most appropriate and efficient specialized vehicle for transportation of certain goods.
• Competence - student is able critically analyze the transportation of specific cargos by specialized vehicles and justify the selection of specialized automobiles, as well as to develop the menegement of specific freight transportation with specialized vehicles.
