The aim of the course is to deal with the transport process components and road transport vehicle efficiency indicators. The course also deals with transportation technologies of the main type of cargo of various industries and with the selection of appropriate vehicles, as well as cargo loading and unloading mechanisms and machines.
Knowledge. Understand basic elements of transportation process, vehicles used in transportation, types of cargo, its loading and unloading techniques, as well as organizing principles of effective freight and passenger transport by road – tests 1-7.
Skills. Able to analyze, compare and evaluate the suitability and efficiency of individual vehicle in freight and passenger transportation in different types of traffic – practical works.
Competences. Able to plan rational and efficient carriage of goods or passengers by road – practical works.

4. Freight points and flows (2h lecture, 2h practical work).
5. Passenger flows (1h lecture).
6. Cargo characteristics and packaging (3h lecture).
7. Specialized vehicles (4h lecture).
8. Technical performance indicators (2h lecture, 4h practical work).
9. Freight haulage organization and regulations (1h lecture).
10. Cargo transportation in containers and on pallets (1h lecture).
11. Loading and unloading (3h lecture).
12. Freight Transport by sector (1h lecture).
13. Vehicle productivity and vehicle selection criteria (1h lecture, 2h practical work).
14. Passenger transport system (1h lecture).
Successfully written all the tests and practical works. Type of exam – accumulative exam.
Preparation for practical work and tests
The assessment of the study course is based on the average arithmetic result of all the written tests during the semester.
