Course abstract

Students will get information about characteristics of theoretical cycles of internal combustion engines. They will study theoretical basics of real processes, parameters of engines, theory and calculations of engine’s mechanisms and systems, characteristics of engines, tendencies of engine’s development, thermodynamical calculation of internal combustion engine as well as engine testing methodics and equipment.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge. Students get knowledge on theoretical cycles of internal combustion engines, working parameters and engine testing.
Skills. Students are able to use their knowledge realizing thermodynamical calculation of the engine and evaluating efficiency of this engine. Their are capable to analyse and evaluate acquired information on the changes of basic parameters of the engine.
Competence. Students are able to define and analyse reasons for the changes of basic parameters of the engine. They are capable to fortify their position and integrate their knowledge into other fields and further studies.
