Course abstract

The study course presents the principles of classification, construction and selection of up-dated automobile tyres. The acquired knowledge can be used in the practical work of engineer determining the tyre faults and repair costs.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• knowledge - the students will acquire basic and specific knowledge in automobile tire application, servicing and repair, they will be able to choose the most appropriate tires for the needs of the autotransport enterprise, to be competent in tire sales aspects.
• skills - the students are able to apply successfully the acquired knowledge and skills practically, discuss issues related to auto tire optimal application on different levels, choose the most appropriate tires and their repair equipment.
• competence - the students are able to select and analyse information related to different kinds of tires, take decisions in the auto transport enterprise in relation to optimal and economic selection and application of tires independently.
