Course abstract

The aim of the study course is to deepen students` knowledge on sociological issues of gender. Gender as a social category is a part of social structure therefore the task of the course is to improve students` abilities to analyse the society from the gender point of view. Knowledge on gender issues, socialization of gender roles help to understand and to implement principles of gender equality in different fields of social life.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge – theoretical ideas about history and manifestation of establishing of gender relationship, gender roles, gender stereotypes and gender equality.
• Skills - to analyse social processes from gender perspective.
• Competence - make socially significant decisions taking into account knowledge and skills of gender relations.
