In the history of Pedagogy the students get an inisight in the content and tasks of hehistory of Pedagogy course. Problems of the development of the pedagogical thought in the historical aspect - from ancient times till today- are discussed and analyzed.The problems of the history of pedagogy are viewed in the context of the world, Europe and Latvia. The students acquire the topical problems of the research in the history of pedagogy, get to know the classical pedagogical heritage.
• Knowledge and understanding of history of pedagogical problems. Knowledge gives a possibility to evaluate the pedagogical problems and the results of work independently and critically.
• Skills - the students can collect evaluate and use pedagogical and scientific information that is necessary in the pedagogical process.
• Competence is characterized by an ability to take personal responsibility for the results of studies.
