Course abstract

Study of wood drying principles, preparation of wood drying schedule and practical training on laboratory equipment. Evaluation of wood drying quality, determination of the wood moisture content (4 methods), determination of drying stress in wood, determination of cracks. Evaluation of wood drying quality according EDG guidelines.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge about preparation of wood drying schedules and evaluation of wood drying quality.
• Skills to develop wood drying schedules according different methodology, and practical ability to evaluate wood drying quality.
• Competence to manage wood drying sector in company.
