Course abstract

Wood is glued to raise its properties and prevent the wood foult and defects. Glued laminated timber is widely used in furniture manufacturing, construction, engineering, etc. Glued wood advantages of dimensional stability and uniformity. Glued laminated timber technology is modern, wood resource-efficient, automated lines. Glued materials are plywood, particleboard, fibreboard, glued solid wood, etc. Study course introduce also with glues and their properties used in gluing of timber.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge of the types of wood-based panels, the production technology and the resources needed.
• Skills to develop technological flow and choose the necessary materials and supplies, including adhesives.
• Competence to analyze the raw material resources and technology to ensure the product quality evaluation and product development.
