Course abstract

The study course introduces the connection of scientific research with the principles of constructor design, approximates the incorporation of knowledge gained by forest work technologists into newly designed equipment, helps to conduct research on the technogenic impact on the forest environment and vice versa. Provides preconditions for the development of forest technical requirements when planning the design of new forest equipment.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Upon completion of the study course, students will gain
• Knowledge of new forest machinery design stages, process and test methodology;
• Skills to substantiate forest technical requirements for newly developed forest equipment, to prepare the necessary information on the peculiarities of the use of newly developed equipment;
• Competence in the creation of equipment necessary for forestry in accordance with the development trends of general equipment.

Requirements for awarding credit points

Attendance of lectures, participation in seminars, preparation of a report on the possibilities of newly designed techniques in connection with the potential topic of the master's thesis. At the end of the test.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Students independently strengthen their knowledge according to the content of the lectures.
Completion of the tasks of practical work received and started to perform in the classroom classes is allowed during the time provided for independent studies.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

The criterion is the percentage compliance with the 10-point grading scale. The assessment in any of the study results must not be less than 50% of 8 points, or it must be at least 4 points.
