Course abstract
Renewable energy forms. Wood as an energy source. The European Union and Latvia Republic policies for the use of renewable energy resources. The energy resources distribution, used for the thermal energy production. Energy-wood resources, their production and utilization technology. The economic evaluation of energy-wood utilization.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
Master students obtain a thorough knowledge of the energy situation and current problems, energy-wood types, volumes and production technology;
* Skills are acquired to appreciate the various renewable energy advantages and disadvantages;
* The competence is obtained to choose the economically most advantageous utilization of energy-wood.
