Course paper covers the most important aspects of forest regeneration and afforestation: selection of tree species, ways of forest regeneration, stand composition, initial spacing, type of forest reproductive material, its origin and category. Technique of soil preparation is analyzed and technological map and plan of activities developed. Necessary protection and thinning activities in the first years of stand growth are evaluated. Economic evaluation of forest regeneration and afforestation is carried out.
During the development of course paper students gains knowledge on most important aspects of forest regeneration and afforestation. After the preparation of course paper students are competent to choose the most appropriated regeneration method, species composition, initial spacing and thinning regime. Students are skilled to calculate the economic results of forest regeneration and afforestation and know the most important factors affecting these results.
