Course abstract

This course paper is to strengthen and deepen the knowledge of forestry, to learn to apply the regulations governing forest management. In forest district, which covers an area of 1000 – 1200 ha, is designed for main and thinning cut, reforestation and other forestry actions.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Preparing the course paper, students acquire knowledge in forest management planning and commercial activity regulation laws requests, silviculture basic positions, forest resources and basic princips of their usage, develop the skills to prepare and use the forest management planning using obtained knowledge and to treat concrete version of forest management from various aspects and get competence, which will be sufficient to assess reasonable and alternative forest management planning options from theoretical and practical point of view, to plan the logging-related forestry operations and management, and to examine the quality of done actions.
