Course abstract

Studying the course, students acquire the mathematical knowledge and skills needed for the further study of special subjects. The second part of course includes derivative of function and its application, indefinite integrals, definite integrals, infinite integrals and its applications, of first and second order ordinary differential equations and its solving methods.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge of indefinite integrals, definite integrals, infinite integrals, of first and second order ordinary differential equations and its solving methods;
• skills use the different methods of integration to indefinite and definite integrals, calculate a area of plane figures, length of line arc, volume and surface area of rotation body, differentiate functions of two variables, calculate the extremum of function of two variables, solve first and second order ordinary differential equations, use an appropriate software “MathCad” to evaluate stated above problems;
• competence: of mathematical thinking, of handle symbols and formal mathematics language, of mathematical problem formulating and solving, of reasoning, of modeling (ability analyze and build mathematical models concerning other area), of aids and tools (ability to make use of and relate to the aids and tools of mathematics.
