Course abstract

During the study course students get acquainted with the CAM system, prepare programs for mechanical processing of workpieces. Students learn the modelling of the cutting process and design the cutting trajectories of the cutting tool.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge. Students are familiar with graphic analysis and representation, understand the creation of sketches of ideas, detailed drawing-plan, preparation of drawings, three-dimensional visualization of objects. (1 test)
Skills. Students acquire skills to independently use the functions and possibilities of MasterCAM software to compile a CNC machine control program in the part manufacturing process. (4 practical works)
Competence. Ability to understand the specifics of different manufacturers and the levels of complexity of series product design, to know the necessary machines, tools and equipment. (4 practical works)
