Course abstract

The I part of the course provides insight into art development in the territory of Latvia from the beginning till nowadays. Practical acquaintance with the widespread fine art`s techniques ensures extended comprehension about creation of artistic works.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge - the I part of the course Art History and Techniques provides teachers of visual art with neccessary knowledge about fine art`s development in the territory of Latvia from the beginning till nowadays.
• Abilities- to evaluate Latvian art development in the context of Europe art. To select the most apropriatable painting or graphic technique for creating an artistic work. To combine diverse artistic tehniques. To evolve creative abilities and imagination of pupils.
• Competence - to use knowledge and abilities to conduct the lessons of visual art for children and adults. To select the most appropriatable art techniques to accomplish the tasks for an art lesson. To direct and encourage growth of trainees in visual art. To elaborate the standarts of judgement to evaluate pupils` artistic works.
