Course abstract

In the course project student analyzes the real data of concrete specie and breed population of farm animals and use for them real animal specific data and available population and quantitative genetics research methods. Master's chosen theme and match it with the teacher. Working method indicates the amount of data to be used in the study, the selected algorithm and a description of the selected data-processing software. There is getting up the project objectives and tasks.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

After completing the course student will have: Knowledge: by analyzing the results of the course project master deliverables capability in-depth knowledge and understanding in achievements in animal breeding and livestock farming.
Skills: acquire skills to apply appropriate quantitative and population genetics research methods, analyze and evaluate the result of genetic parameters and arguments to explain them. Be able to independently choose for the master's work the most appropriate research methods.
Competences: master will be competent to study and analyze scientific literature, be able to independently formulate and critically analyze the results, as well as able to take master's thesis.
