Master students aggregate information from researches on crop rotation in stationeries, studies crop rotation fundamental principles, soil protection, and its scientific argumentation. Studies include assessments of criteria of agro-economy, agro-ecology, agricultural systems and its division.
After completing the course student will have:
knowledge and understanding about theoretical and practical aspects of crop rotations, what is based on results from scientific researches in Latvia and other countries;
skills to define and evaluate importance of proper crop rotation in comparison with monocropping in practical farming; to choose optimal crop sequence according to soil properties and growing possibilities using scientifically based principles;
competences to establish scientific researches on crop rotation in cooperation with scientific supervisor what is important precondition for well-grounded farming system; to use results from scientific researches in practice according to local conditions; to give advices for farmers about crop rotations.
