Course abstract

The subject as a scientific discipline includes the theory of general (typical) machine elements (part and units), engineering calculations and design. The subject presents engineering knowledge for creative machine design work. It develops engineering thinking, initiative and creation, teaches to apply the existing ideas and to search for new ones, to modulate using analogues.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge – the students know the criteria of machine, mechanism and part capacity, selection of materials and design methods, the standards related to design (ISO, LVS, DIN, GOST). Skills – can choose methods for solving technical tasks, consult manuals and standards for solution of practical tasks. Competence – are able to modulate tasks in machine science, solve technical tasks, carry out independent research, are knowing, informed and capable professionals.
