Course abstract
The aim of the study course is to present the situation of animal breeding mechanization in Latvia, the system of animal breeding machines, its formation and characteristics, modern milking machines and robots, milk meters and flow adaptors, milk cleaning and cooling equipment, freezers, animal breeding management system.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
• Knowledge - on the situation of animal breeding mechanization in Latvia, and its development trends, modern technologies and equipment that are used for milking and primary processing of milk as well as on milk production management.
• Skills – to know and evaluate different milking and milk primary processing equipment according to its construction and technical parameters.
• Competence – to acquire knowledge and skills that are necessary for an engineer concerned with up-dating of animal breeding technology and mechanization.
