The subject implies: 1) theoretical basis of general chemistry, including: general regularities of chemical process, structure of matter, heterogeneous dispersion systems, solutions, electrolyte water solutions, electrochemical processes; 2) main qualities of chemical elements and their joins, used in contemporary tehnologies as a material for building and construction; 3) basic of chemistry of joining materials.
Students are able to demonstrate their knowledge of general chemistry and understand their connection to civil engineering. Students are able to demonstrate skills for practical calculation by using the acquired basics of the theoretical background. Students are able to demonstrate skills for searching the information to successfully completing the assigned job - home work and tests.
Students are able to demonstrate their understanding and knowledge of basic principles and processes of general chemistry and their connection to food science and food technology. Students are able to demonstrate skills independently to do laboratory works. Students are able to demonstrate competences to make conclusions and discuss about the results - presentation of laboratory reports.
